So Sad To Hear Of Auntie Edna’s Passing. The Things I Will Always Remember, Her Sass, Being Very Outspoken. Her Spotless House. If It Is Not In Order, She Is Cleaning. Take Things Down Off the Walls, Dust, Wash, Scrub. Stop By For A Visit, Will Last 3+ hrs, With Endless Coffee, Filling Your Cup. Like Grandma Anna, Aunt Hazel, My Daddy & Auntie Edna, Love Cardinals. Her Love Of Baking, Canning & Decorating For Christmas. Her Love Of A Garden, Flowers, Lawn Ornaments & Decorations. Her Love Of Bowling. She Was An Amazing Bowler. Lots Of Pins & Trophies. Her Love Of Camping. She Would Call Me In The Spring, Telling Me She Plans To Clean, Stock Up & Prepare To Go To Evansdale. She Enjoyed “Vacationing” From Spring Til Autumn. Don & I Went To Her Camp Site. We Brought Iowa Chops, Potatoes & Pasta Salad. Little Debbie Cakes For Dessert. While The Grill Was Heating Up, Don & I Had A Couple Beers, Auntie Edna Had A Berry Wine Cooler. My Daddy & Her Hung Out. They Would Bicker, Disagree, Part Way For A Bit, Then Back Drinking Coffee Together Again. When We Talked On The Phone Or Visited In Person, She Would Start In On Something. I Would Tell Her, No, No, Change The Subject. If She Didn’t I Would Say, Am Leaving, Got To Go. She Would Stop & Visit About A Good Subject. I Wanted to Enjoy Our Chats, Not Dwell Or Rehash, The Past, Even The Present. Yes, She Could Drive Me Nuts. Getting On About Someone Or Some Thing. UGH! We’d Steer Back On Pleasant Conversations. She Would Reminisce About Her & Johnnie. Their Courtship & Life Together, Cut Too Short. She Missed Him So Very Much. She Would Get Teary, While Talking About Him, Caring For Him & The Day She Lost Him. Was Heartbreaking. Lastly, Her Love For Her Bailey. That Was Her Little Buddy, Her Baby, Her Companion. They Were Inseparable. She Had Grooming Appointments, Treats. She Had To Pick Certain Kibbles Out Of The Dogfood, Cause Bailey Was A Picky Eater. Sadly, We Did Not Chat & Meet For Visits, In The Past Months. I Always Sent Her Holiday Cards To Keep In Touch. Don & I Love You. We Will Miss You.
My sympathy and prayers are with all of Edna’s family. May she at peace in her heavenly home.
