Eleanora D. Larson, age 88, of New Hampton, IA passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, IA. Eleanora Augusta Larson was born on August 18, 1924 to Ralph and Meta (Hartkopp) Dannen in Melbourne, IA. She attended and graduated from Alden High School. After graduation Eleanora worked as an operator for Iowa Falls Telephone Company for several years. She was united in marriage to Lowell Larson on February 26, 1950 in Nashua, IA at the Little Brown Church. The couple farmed near Kanawha, IA before moving to their present home near New Hampton. Eleanora was a member of Crane Creek Lutheran Church and an active member of the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening; shopping, going to rummage sales, quilting with the Ladies Aid, spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren grow. Eleanora is survived by her children, Kathy (Ron) Turner of Dysart, IA, Gary (Deb) Larson of Lawler, IA, Tony Larson of Lawler, IA, Debbie (Dan) Fulks of Cedar Falls, IA, Jeff (Deb) Larson of New Hampton, Pam Larson of Clear Lake, IA and Kim (Robbie) Hilmer of Dysart, IA; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Ethel Dannen of Prescott, AZ, Vivian Dannen of Stuart, IA, Doris Shear of Garner, IA, Clarice Yarger of San Diego, CA and JoAnn Betten of Arizona; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lowell on June 3, 2006; her grandson, Jared Larson and brothers Don and Herb. Cemetery: Burial will be at Crane Creek Cemetery following the funeral services. Memorials may be directed to Eleanora's family. Visitation will be on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 4-8 pm at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton and will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Crane Creek Lutheran Church in rural Lawler with Pastor Vincent Fricke officiating.
