George 'Bob' Tuttle

George 'Bob' Tuttle, age 86, of Elma, IA, passed away on Sunday, December 2, 2012 at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, IA. George Robert Tuttle was born on January 7, 1926 to Lynn and Emma (Blyfield) Tuttle in Ogden, Iowa. Bob attended country school and graduated in 1944 from Perry High School in Perry, Iowa. He farmed with his dad for several years. Bob was united in marriage to Ramona Cox on March 21, 1946 in Blair, Nebraska. In 1965 the couple purchased their present farm north east of Elma. They farmed their entire life. Bob enjoyed bicycling and he rode in RAGBRI for 10 straight in his late 60’s and early 70’s, traveling and farming. He was a member of Maple Leaf Lutheran Church and the Masons. Bob is survived by his wife Ramona of Elma, Iowa; daughter Suzanne Holmstrom of Elma, Iowa; sons Mike (Sherry) Tuttle of Prescott Valley, Arizona and Gary (Sandy) Tuttle of Ames, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Lynn and Emma Tuttle; three brothers Shelby, Francis “Fritz” and Donald Tuttle; and sister Vera Bosveld.
Cemetery:
Serving as casket bearers are Jeff Holmstrom, Greg Holmstrom, Ben Tuttle, Luke Steege, Chad Campbell, Will Kopp, Brandon Kester, Tony Grere, Alex Holmstrom and Shawn Tuttle. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in Elma, Iowa.
Funeral services for George will be 2:00pm Friday, December 7, 2012 at Maple Leaf Lutheran Church, Elma, Iowa with Pastor Daniel Christensen officiating.
