Geraldine attended Rudolphinum Catholic School in Protivin, IA. Though there are questions about the details of how they met, Geraldine was united in marriage to the love of her life, James Lenehan on June 10, 1952 at Holy Trinity Church in Protivin. The couple made their home in rural Alta Vista where they welcomed their 10 children, Rosanne, Rosalee, Rick, Randy, Rodney, Robert, Roger, Ronald, Raeanne, and Renee. This family also grew to include 23 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; with two new great grandchildren on their way in 2021. “Grandma’s hugs were the best!” She so loved giving and receiving hugs from each of the children! Geraldine loved cooking and baking, especially cookies for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. It was a rule that company would never leave hungry and often took leftovers home. Geraldine was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She is deeply missed by her children; Rosanne Schultz; Rosalee (Denny) Lechtenberg and family; Rick Lenehan and family; Randy (Patty) Lenehan and family; Rodney (Cindy) Lenehan and family; Robert (Cindy) Lenehan and family, Roger (Edith) Lenehan and family, Ronald (Mark) Lenehan and family; Raeanne (Russ) Obermeier and family and Renee Lenehan and family.
