James T. Tucker, age 45, of New Hampton, IA died April 3, 2011 at his home. James Thomas Tucker was born on March 5, 1966 to Larry and Phoeba (Rodgers) Tucker in Moline, IL. He graduated from Moline High School in 1984. On September 5, 1986 Jim was united in marriage to Terry Merritt in Rock Island, IL. The couple lived in Andalusia, IL before moving to New Hampton in 1993. Jim was employed with Waste Management in Mason City, IA at the time of his death. Jim enjoyed playing golf, watching football, and spending time with his family. He is survived by mother, Phoeba (Wayne) Popp of Ionia, IA; his wife, Terry of New Hampton; his children Ashley (Cory) Hammer, James Tucker, and Taylor Tucker, all of New Hampton; his brothers and sisters, Wendy (Harlan) Peters of New Hampton, Brian Van Dewalle of Moline, IL, Scott Van Dewalle of Moline, IL; several aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father Larry Tucker. Memorials: Memorials may be directed to the family. Service: A private family service will be held at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home at a later date.

  12. Whit my greatest condolences and sympathy to the Tucker family. I had the privilege to work with Jim and considered him a friend. I will miss him greatly.

  13. I’m really sorry to hear about Jim’s passing. I hadn’t talked to him since high school but we went to Butterworth elementary school together and i had known him since i think 3rd grade.

    He was a funny guy, a great athlete and just a good all around dude. I’m sad that I never got a chance to talk to him. This will definitely make me appreciate life more and will push me to keep in contact with more people. My condolences go out to his wife, kids and extended family. May he rest in peace.

  14. My condolences to Jim’s family and friends. Jim was the first good friend I made as the “new kid” in Junior High. I quickly learned that being Jim’s friend meant no one would pick on you. I will remember him fondly.

  20. Jim was a very close friend in Junior High and High School and will be greatly missed. I have searched for Jim for the last couple of years via the internet and am so sad to hear of his passing. It is made worse by the fact that we were so relatively close together. (New Hampton-Marshalltown) I will remember the great times with basketball at Coolidge. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

  24. Jim and I were very close in junior high. I never missed a football game, or a wrestling match. He was a great friend, and just a great guy. I remember the Nike’s buddy…can still picture them!!! I had a pair, too!
