Leslie A. Miller, age 72, of Elma, IA died Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at Regional Health in Cresco, IA. Leslie Arno Miller was born on October 12, 1938 to Arno and Hattie (Miller) Miller in Elma, IA. Leslie attended and graduated from Elma High School in 1957. He worked for the Elma Creamery and hauled milk. Leslie later farmed south of Osage before purchasing his present farm near Elma in 1973. On September 3, 1961, Leslie was united in marriage to Margaret Troge at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Osage. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Hawkeye sports, Viking’s football, snowmobiling, family get-togethers and playing ball with the kids. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and the Farm Bureau. Leslie is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Margaret of Elma; his children, Keith (Sandy) Miller of Elma, Brenda (Chad) Kiel of Thompson, IA, Lorie (Kent) Hoeft of Charles City, IA and Craig (Melissa) Miller also of Charles City; his grandchildren, Hattie Miller, Bill and Cole Worthy, Ashley (Jeremy) Lemke, Dustin and Devin Kiel, Lee and Lynn Hoeft, Amanda and Kelly Miller, Kalee Tepee and Caleb Schadt; three great-grandchildren, Bentley Miller, Gabe Brunschoen and Jay Lemke; one sister, Lucille (Richard) Bill of New Hampton and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Cemetery: Burial will be in Howard Cemetery at Elma. Memorials may be directed to the family. at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in Elma, and will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Elma.
