Luella M. Glaser, age 84, of New Hampton, Iowa went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the New Hampton Care Center in New Hampton on January 9, 2012. Luella Marie Glaser was born on July 9, 1927 to Francis and Lornetta (Kalkbrenner) Rings in New Hampton, IA. She attended St. Mary’s School in North Washington for 11 years and graduated from New Hampton High School in 1945. Luella was united in marriage to Harold Glaser on October 28, 1947 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in New Hampton. The couple farmed west of New Hampton until 1977 when they retired to New Hampton. Luella loved her children and grandchildren making many sacrifices to assure that they were well taken care of, always putting others first. She loved gardening and her flower gardens. Luella was a member of St. Joseph’s Center – Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph’s Rosary Society, New Hampton Garden Club and was bookkeeper for Harold’s Nachurs Fertilizer. Luella is survived by her loving husband Harold of 64 years; children Lambert “Bert” (Pamela) Glaser of Dubuque, IA, Wilbert “Gus” (Carol) of Chatfield, MN, Zelda (Dennis) Demro of Nashua, IA, Dale (Elaine) Glaser of Ionia, IA, Lester (Wilma) Glaser of New Hampton, IA, Joyce (David) Dryer of Davenport, IA, and Gerard (Angela) Glaser of New Hampton; 25 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother Roger Rings of New Hampton; numerous nieces and nephews; in-laws Bernard “Barnie” (Fran) Glaser of San Francisco, CA, John Glaser of Phoenix, AZ, Joseph Glaser of New Hampton, Frank Glaser of Waterloo, IA, Vincent Glaser of Alta Vista, IA, Mary Ann (Brian) Valley of Orland Park, IL, Luella (Phil) Jorgensen of Cedar Falls, IA, and Donald Glaser of St. Charles, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents Francis and Lornetta; sister Francis Bohr; brother-in-law Art Bohr; sisters-in-law Mary Jo Rings, Elizabeth Huber, Margaret Zubrod, Lois Glaser, Phyllis Glaser, Clarice Glaser, and Laverne Glaser; brother-in-law Paul “Bobby” Glaser. Cemetery: Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in New Hampton with Jon Glaser, Tracy Demro, Kevin Glaser, Scott Glaser, Andy Glaser, Jacob Glaser, Noah Glaser and Berto Uribe serving as casket bearers and honorary casket bearers will be Luella’s grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to the family. at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton with a rosary at 3:30pm and scriptural wake service at 8:00pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the funeral mass on Friday. at Holy Family Parish-St. Joseph’s Center in New Hampton with Father Mark Osterhaus celebrating.
