Madonna J. Flick, age 76 of New Hampton, Iowa passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Holy Family Parish in New Hampton, IA with Father Brian Dellaert celebrating the mass. Burial will be held at New Hampton Cemetery in New Hampton.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 PM at Holy Family Parish, Gathering Space in New Hampton, IA with a 7:30 PM Scriptural Wake Service. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the funeral mass on Saturday. Online condolences for Madonna’s family may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com. In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St. Judes Hospital.
Madonna Jeanine Flick was born November 26, 1941, the daughter of Leland and Maxine (Bigley) Whalen in New Hampton, IA. She attended St. Joseph’s School and graduated from New Hampton High School in 1959. Madonna worked for Schield Bantam in Waverly as a secretary. She was united in marriage to Linus “Butch” Flick on September 9, 1961 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in New Hampton. The couple farmed near North Washington until their retirement in 1992 when they moved to New Hampton. After retiring, Madonna and Linus enjoyed traveling to Montana and the Black Hills. Madonna enjoyed her family, crocheting and sewing. She was a member of Holy Family Parish and the Rosary Society.
Left to cherish Madonna’s memories are her husband, Linus “Butch” Flick of New Hampton; her children, Kevin (Lisa) Flick of New Hampton, Denise (Jim) Rausch of St. Lucas, IA, Marilu Flick of Mason City, IA, Steve (Tammy) Flick of North Washington, IA, Theresa (Robert) White of Manly, IA, Robert (Mary) Flick of Ionia, IA, Debra (Ben Beier) Boos of Lake Mills, IA; her 11 grandchildren; three great-grandsons; her sister, Midge Schlindwein of Dubuque, IA and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Whalen and sister, Shirley Kane.

Butch and family: I am sorry to hear of your earthly loss but having known Madonna she is your angel and will be with you always. Madonna always had empathy for those who were suffering or in need. Madonna is a truly wonderful lady.
