Sandra L. Rieck, age 48, of New Hampton, IA, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the University of Iowa Medical Center in Iowa City, IA, surrounded by her husband, daughter and immediate family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 20, 2018 at Holy Family Parish in New Hampton, IA with Father Brian Dellaert celebrating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetary at New Hampton, IA. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton, IA with a Scriptural Wake Service at 7:00 PM and will continue one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church on Friday. Sandi was born on July 24, 1969 to Tom and Pat (Mai) Schwickerath in New Hampton, IA. She graduated from New Hampton High School in 1987. Sandi was employed at Sara Lee in New Hampton until it closed. She then went to nursing school at Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar, IA. Sandi was a registered nurse at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, IA. She worked in nursing until she was unable, due to diminishing health. In 1989 Sandi gave birth to her daughter, Jayden. Sandi was united in marriage to Kevin Rieck on July 17, 2009 in Preston, MN. Sandi and Kevin made their home in rural New Hampton. Sandi enjoyed her animals, especially her Boston Terriers, cooking for family and friends, being a “Rebel”, sewing and crafts, fishing, and keeping in touch with loved ones and friends. She was a member of Holy Family Parish. Sandi is survived by her parents Tom and Pat Schwickerath of New Hampton, IA; husband Kevin Rieck of New Hampton, IA; daughter Jayden (Cale Woods) Schwickerath of Castalia, IA; step-children Nick (Shannan) Rieck of Humboldt, IA, Natalie (Tristan) Remple of Kalona, IA, Krysta Rieck of Parkersburg, WV, and Kaleb Rieck of Cedar Falls, IA.; eight grandchildren Rayn and Skylar Woods, Jeremiah, Garrett and Emmalin Rempel, Levi, Isaac and Margaret Rieck; sisters Jenni (Billy) Bearman of New Hampton, Kayla (Jeff) Hazelton of Cedar Falls, IA; brothers Todd (Sheri) Schwickerath of St. Robert, MO and Toby (Amber Junk) Schwickerath of New Hampton, IA; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and her beloved pets. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Virgil and Dolly Schwickerath, maternal grandparents Donald and Eta Mai; close great uncle Mark Schwickerath and cousin Barb Barnhill.

  12. Kenin, I was so shocked to see Sandi passed away. I used to love visiting with her at the clinic. She was always so sweet and friendly. I hadn’t seen her in quite a while, but will remember her smile. My sympathy to you and family.
