Sharon L Kovarik, Age 62, of rural Riceville, IA died on Friday, May 23, 2008 at her home. Sharon Lea (Meier) Kovarik was born on January 4, 1946 to Walter and Shirley (Schultz) Meier in Cresco, IA.  She attended country school and graduated from Riceville High School in 1964. Sharon was united in marriage to Larry Kovarik on June 19, 1965 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elma. Sharon and Larry farmed north of Elma all of their married lives. She loved farming, reading, cats, socializing and her grandchildren. Sharon was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church in Elma, The Catholic Order of Foresters, Rosary Society and was longtime member of TOPS. Sharon was always willing to help out in any way she could for her local church and community and will be greatly missed by all. Sharon is survived by her husband Larry Kovarik of rural Riceville, IA; one daughter Kim (Jeff) Rahlf of Elma, IA; two grandchildren Cory and Brandi Rahlf; sister Carol (Dave) Kostohryz of Protivin, IA; sister-in-law Mary Stika of Catoosa, OK and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Shirley Meier; son Steve Kovarik; brothers-in-law Jerry Stika and Stan Kovarik and sister-in-law Marc Kovarik. Cemetery: Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery at Elma. Visitation: Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, Elma and will continue one hour prior to the service at the funeral home Service: Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30AM, Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elma with Father Ray Atwood as celebrant. Barb Boyle will be the organist and the congregational hymns will be Amazing Grace, On Eagles Wings, I am the Bread of Life and Prayer of St. Francis.
