Betty B. Pose, age 95, of New Hampton, IA, passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at her home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton, IA with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating. Burial will be in New Hampton Cemetery at New Hampton, IA. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Friday, November 29, 2019 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton, IA. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church building fund or donor’s choice. Online condolences for Betty’s family may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com. Betty B. Bergmann was born on July 16, 1924 in Frederika, IA to Edwin and Fietta (Baney) Bergmann. After graduating from Frederika High School, she moved to New Hampton where she worked at J.C. Penney. She later worked at the Chickasaw County Clerk of Court office. Betty married Harlan A. Pose on May 12, 1945, in Norman, Oklahoma while he was serving in the U.S. Navy. After he was discharged from the Navy, they made their home in New Hampton. Betty was a long time active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Miriam Circle, the alter guild and served on the funeral luncheon committee. She was past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Fae Stine American Legion Post #38. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed fishing at Lake Pepin at Lake City, MN, gardening, knitting, sewing and baking. She would can all her spare produce for eating in the winter and give out hand-knit washcloths and coffee cakes at Christmas time. Betty is survived by her devoted husband of 74 plus years, Harlan of New Hampton, IA; sons Jim (Pat) of Borrego Springs, CA, John (Peggy) of Minneapolis, MN, and Kevin (Joe) of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren Alisa Pose, Sarah (Aaron) Bleiweiss, Christine (Rick) Korecky, Michelle (James) Anderson and Matt Pose; great grandchildren Ava Bleiweiss and Teddy Anderson as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Betty is preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Fietta Bergmann and her brother Robert Bergmann. The family of Betty Pose would like to thank St. Croix Hospice for all of their care and support during Betty’s final days.

  1. I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Betty. She was such a sweet lady that I always enjoyed visiting with. We enjoyed lots of loving hugs and shared the same birthday. Rest in peace Betty, now in the loving arms of the Lord for eternity. Will miss and love you always.

And we certainly enjoyed her coffee cakes that you so graciously delivered to us each year. I also have a couple of her pot holders that she gave to me and I will always treasure them.   9. I was very sorry to hear of Betty’s passing. She suffered a long time and will be at peace now. Whenever I think of Betty I remember how she was always smiling. I’m sorry I was unable to attend the viewing or the funeral as I was out of town at a family get together for the holiday. May she rest in peace.

  11. I just learned the passing of Betty. What a wonderful lady and the Pose family has my condolences. Many years ago we were neighbors of Harlan and Betty, and my parents and Pose’s had a lot of fun together. South Locust has good memories. I am sure my Mother and Betty are sitting laughing about those times.
