Clara J. Schulz

Clara J. Schulz, age 83, of New Hampton, IA, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Patty Elwood Center near Cresco, IA.
Clara J. Nystel was born April 2, 1931 to Oscar and Ella (Christensen) Nystel on a farm near Jerico, IA. She attended country school near Jerico and graduated from Waverly High School in 1949. Clara was united in marriage to Bill McRoberts and to this union three children were born. The couple later divorced. She was united in marriage to Albert Schulz on June 5, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton. To this union three children were born. They lived and farmed in the New Hampton area. Clara was employed at Beatrice Cheese in Fredericksburg for 20 years before retiring in 1996. The couple moved from their farm in New Hampton to Mason City and eventually returning back to New Hampton where she has resided since.
Clara enjoyed quilting, crocheting, volunteering at church and especially spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in New Hampton.
Clara is survived by three daughters, Kathleen (Francis) Ranc of New Hampton, Colleen Putney of Charles City and Brenda (Bob) Holschlag of New Hampton; two sons, Terry (Rhonda) Schulz and Steve (Lee Anne) Schulz, both of New Hampton; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two, sisters, Lorraine Baker of Charles City and Edna (Jim) Bethany of New Hampton; one brother, Walter Nystel of New Hampton and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert; one brother, Omar and one daughter, Cheryl.
