On July 24, 1982, John was united in marriage to Rita Kreeger at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in New Hampton. The couple made their home in North Washington and blended their family as one. They welcomed their children, Patrick, Sarah, Chris, Justin, Nathan and Tim. John was active in the New Hampton community teaching hunter’s Education for over 45 years, and an active member of the Jaycees. He was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. John also enjoyed bowling.
