Lorraine Holschlag, age 92, of New Hampton, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2008 at the New Hampton Nursing and Rehab Center in New Hampton. Lorraine Catherine (Heit) Holschlag was born on December 11, 1915 to Joseph and Mary (Boellerschen) Heit in New Hampton Township, Iowa.  She attended St. Marys Catholic School in New Hampton.  Lorraine Catherine was united in marriage to Harold Clemens Holschlag on November 28, 1935 at St. Marys Catholic Church in New Hampton.  After their marriage the couple lived on a farm south of New Hampton where they farmed and raised their family.  Lorraine moved into New Hampton in 1993 and in 2005 she moved to Kensington Place before entering the New Hampton Nursing and Rehab Center in 2007. She was an avid gardener and took great pleasure in her many house plants. She spent many happy hours raising chickens and collecting eggs and especially enjoyed her grandchildren and all the little ones.  She was a member of St. Marys Catholic Church in New Hampton, Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America, the Las Amigos Ladies Club and a neighborhood card club. Lorraine is survived by one son Richard (Rose) Holschlag of New Hampton; one daughter Marilee (Roy) Richardson of Knoxville, IA; one sister Eleanor Fankhauser of Williams, IA; one brother Ralph Heit of New Hampton; eight grandchildren Joseph (Ronda) Holschlag, Robert (Brenda) Holschlag, Paul (Sherri) Holschlag, David (Jodi) Holschlag, Susan (Nick) Baker, Ryan Richardson, Russell (Cassie) Richardson, Robyn (Wes) King; and 24 great grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold who died on January 15, 1993, daughter Ann who died on June 1, 1979, granddaughter Yvonne Los who died on May 19, 1993, two brothers Raymond and Jerome Heit and brother-in-law Roy Fankhauser. Cemetery: Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery with grandsons Joseph Holschlag, Robert Holschlag, Paul Holschlag, David Holschlag, Ryan Richardson and Russell Richardson serving as casket bearers. Visitation: Visitation will be 3:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton with a rosary at 4:00 pm and  Scriptural Wake Service at 5:00 pm and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.  Service: Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am on Monday, January 28, 2008 at Holy Family Parish, St. Josephs Center in New Hampton with  Father John Harpel celebrating mass.
