Alice M. Olson

Alice M. Olson, age 85 of Vallejo, CA formerly of New Hampton, IA passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at her home in Vallejo surrounded by her family. Alice Marie Olson was born January 3, 1926 to William and Laura (Riekmann) Kuntz in Lime Springs, Iowa. She attended schools near Lime Springs and Chester. Later Alice moved to Decorah with her family. She was employed in Cedar Rapids where she met her loving husband, Lawrence Olson. The couple married on May 6, 1961 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marion, IA. After their marriage Alice and Lawrence lived in Cedar Rapids until they moved to New Hampton in 1988. Alice was an active member of Jerico Evangelical Lutheran Church, volunteering her time with the Ladies Aid and Bible Study groups. Alice is survived by her husband of 50 years, Lawrence and the couple’s son, Wayne (Lisa) Olson, all of Vallejo, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Viola Klotzback, Ella Newton and Dorothy Ruffridge and two brothers, John and Art Kuntz. Cemetery: Burial will be in the church cemetery with John Roberson, Harvey Knutson, James Costello, Orin Johnson, Paul Johnson and Everett Schacht serving as casket bearers.
