Annette K Schmitz

Annette “Ann” K. Schmitz, age 88, of New Hampton, IA passed away on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton. In honor of Annette’s wishes there will be a private family burial at a later date. Conway-Markham Funeral Home of New Hampton is assisting her family with arrangements. Annette “Ann” Kathryn was born December 17, 1929 to James and Agnes (Bolton) Finnegan on the family farm near Ionia, Iowa. She attended and graduated from St. Boniface Catholic School in Ionia. After completing her education, Ann traveled to Des Moines where she worked as a nanny for several families. On June 26, 1954, Ann was united in marriage to Dale M. Schmitz at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ionia. The couple made their home in Alta Vista where they lived until their retirement when they moved to New Hampton. Annette worked as a bookkeeper in the New Hampton area throughout the years. Annette and Dale enjoyed fishing and traveling the globe. She will be deeply missed by her sister, Della Johnson of Nashua, IA and numerous nieces and nephews. Annette was preceded in death by her husband, Dale in 2007; her parents; brothers, Patrick, Jerome and James and her sisters, Donna, Rita and Theresa.
