Betty R. Ingalls, age 82, of New Hampton, passed away at her home on Friday, February 5, 2016 with her family by her side. Betty Rose Donovan was born on October 27, 1933 to John and Marie (Wanderschide) Donovan in Lawler, IA. She attended Williamstown Country School. Betty helped out at home and on the farm. She was married to Elmo Ingalls on October 11, 1958 in Mason City, IA. The couple made their home in New Hampton where they lived their entire lives. Betty was employed as a cook or waitress at the Main Diner, Roger’s Famous Foods, Edie and Jerry’s Café, L-Kove and Klunders Kafe where she worked until she retired after 25 years. Betty enjoyed going to casinos with her friends, Birthday Club, and baking her pies, which she was well known for. She especially enjoyed going to her grandkids and great grandkids school events and spending time with her family. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, the Birthday Club and the Osage VFW Auxiliary. Betty is survived by her children Shirley (Mike) Troyna of New Hampton and Bob (Amy) Ingalls of Cedar Rapids, IA; sisters Marjorie Hewitt of Osage, IA, Avis Dixon (Larry McIlrath) of Mason City, IA and Pat Bolton of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren Michelle (Travis) Schwarze of New Hampton, IA, MaryAnn (Lee) Heying of Vinton, IA and Tim (Krista) Troyna of Hiawatha, IA; and 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her parents John and Marie Donovan, husband Elmo, sisters Margaret Speltz, Helen Donovan, Helena Mabel Ruen; brothers Keith, Vince, Walter, Jerry, John Jr. and Donald.

  20. Bob, I am so sorry about your mother. I have just now heard the news, and I regret that I could not share being a part of her services because I didn’t know of her death.
