Carmelita Rose Rosenbaum, age 82, of New Hampton, IA, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019 at MercyOne North in Mason City, Iowa. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Holy Family Parish in New Hampton, IA with Father Brian Dellaert celebrating Mass. Burial will be in St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Ionia, IA. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday, September 30, 2019 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton, IA with a Rosary at 3:30 PM and Scriptural Wake Service at 7:00 PM. Carmelita Rose Rosenbaum was born on July 16, 1937 to William and Cecilia (Langreck) Brincks in Waucoma, IA. She attended school at St. Mary’s School in Waucoma and graduated from Waucoma High School in 1955. Carmelita was united in marriage to Gilbert Rosenbaum on October 1, 1955 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waucoma. The couple lived in Charles City, IA until 1965 when they moved to their acreage in Chickasaw. They retired to New Hampton in 1999 where Carmelita has lived to the present. Gilbert and Carmelita were co-owners of the Ionia Locker from 1985 to 1999. She also worked as a housekeeper and gardener for St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening (especially her flowers), and crocheting. She was also very active in her church. Carmelita thoroughly enjoyed her family. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Rosary Society and Lay Minister. Carmelita is survived by her sons Ronnie (Dolores) Rosenbaum of Clear Lake, IA; Randy Rosenbaum of Sierra Vista, AZ; Rick Rosenbaum of Ionia, IA; and Russ (Kim) Rosenbaum of Nora Springs, IA; daughter Rhonda (Mike) Lensing of Osage, IA; eight grandchildren Joe, James, Julie, Carla, Matt, Eric, Amy and Renae; great grandchildren Eli, Lena, Koen, Caleb, Sarah, Titus, Judah, Jackson, Joey, Noah, Liberty, Micah, Alex, Everett, Corbin, Rhett, Jaedyn, Peyton and another grandchild due in March; sister-in-law Dorothy Smith of Cresco, IA; brothers Harold Brincks of Decorah, IA; and LeRoy (Thelma) Brincks of Washburn, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Carmelita is preceded in death by her parents William and Cecilia Brincks and husband Gilbert on August 14, 2018.
