Carol May Schwiesow

Carol May Schwiesow, age 81, of Nashua, Iowa passed away at her home on Sunday, August 7, 2011. Carol May Wood was born on December 13, 1929 to Ogden and Ida (Shull) Wood in Ewing, Nebraska. She moved with her family to Manning, Iowa where she attended school. On December 7, 1946 she married Earl Schwiesow in Harlan, Iowa. The couple made their home in Defiance, Iowa and later moved to Fredericksburg, Iowa where she lived until 2006 when she moved to be near her daughter in Nashua. Carol was a very intelligent, loving and caring person. She was a homemaker deeply devoted to her family and her religious beliefs. Inheriting her father’s intelligence she had numerous hobbies with her favorites being crocheting and reading. Growing up she would build airplanes with her brothers and used her artistic abilities to draw beautiful pictures. Her life was devoted in helping all her kids anyway she could. Carol is survived by two daughters Faye (Ron) Leichtman of New Hampton and Mary (Gene) Overlien of Nashua; three sons Richard (Sandra) Schwiesow of Freeport, IL, Michael (Tammy) Schwiesow of New York, and Tom (Marilu) Schwiesow of DesMoines, IA; 12 grandchildren Margo, Megan, Rob, Alex, Ted, Shannon, Lance, Mark, John, Sarah, Joshua and Danielle; and 14 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Ogden and Ida Wood; her husband Earl (1999); son Robin (1961); daughter Sally (2004), one sister Delores; and five brothers Duke, Don, Bill, Bob and Merle.
Cemetery:
Burial will be in the New Hampton Cemetery at New Hampton, IA.
Memorials may be directed to Carol’s family.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Kingdom Hall on Saturday.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in New Hampton, Iowa.
Carol will be missed greatly, she was a carring person who will never be forgotten. She will be missed by her grandson Alex skidmore who always spoke of his grandmother as kind and loving. She will also be missed by her grandson’s wife Linda and their two children Natasha-Maria and Racheal-Laura Skidmore. We love you grandma and we miss you.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mother, but she is now at peace. Her long battle is over and she can rest now with your Dad and siblings. She will be missed by all. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Love to the entire family.
