She attended and graduated from Dubuque High School and entered the convent for a short time. She then met and was united in marriage to Donald Jerome Doyle at St. Columbkilles Catholic Church. To this union six children were born (The first baby, Patrick, died shortly after birth.). The couple moved quite a bit before settling down in Quandahl, Iowa to raise their children. Cecelia worked different jobs, but her main focus was raising her family. She had a masterhand for painting and devoted much of her time to creating paintings and cards, to help feed the family. When their children were grown, Cecelia and Donald moved to Moline, IL, then to Marion, IA where they stayed for 25 years. There she became a clown, painting faces and making balloon animals. During this time, she also began creating jewelry and experienced great success selling her work at various art and craft shows, often donating much of her proceeds through Mt. Loretto Convent in Dubuque. When her husband, Don became ill, Cecelia took the roll of caregiver until his death; as well as her son, Scott a few years later. A short time later, she moved to Waverly, IA to be close to her family. Cecilia loved to play bingo, scratch lottery tickets and taking care of a crop of house plants. She made friends whereever she went and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Cecelia is survived by her children; Mike (Pam) Doyle Palestine TX, Brian (Bonnie) Doyle Missoula MT, Donna (John) Burgart of New Hampton and Chris (Kathy) Doyle of Cedar Falls, IA; her siblings, Sister Marie Barth of Dubuque, IA, Fred (Nancy) Barth of Boulder CO, Reenie Barth of Lakewood CO, Ronnie (Andy) Miscio of Fort Collins CO; her grandchildren, Sean, Phillip, Baylee, Bethany, Brenna, Eric, Kevin, Jaidan, Ryan and Travis and numerous nieces and nephews.
