Clarence A. Throndson, age 89, of New Hampton, IA died Saturday, March 26, 2011 at New Hampton Care Center in New Hampton.
Clarence Anthony Throndson was born October 22, 1921 to Thrond and Bertha (Ehert) Throndson in Lawler, Iowa. Clarence attended country school near Lawler. He then worked as a hired man for Lawler area farmers. Clarence was united in marriage to Rita Weigel on August 9, 1943 at St. Patricks Church in Jerico. He was a mechanic for Howell Motors in New Hampton from 1948 to 1952. The couple resided in the Lawler area until they moved to New Hampton. He went to work for Mikkelson Motors in New Hampton from 1952 to 1975 and then Duane Auto Repair until his retirement in 1986. Clarence loved mechanical work, mowing lawns, drives in the country and he dearly loved his family. He was a member of St. Josephs Center Holy Family Parish.
Clarence is survived by son Joseph (Lea) Throndson of New Hampton; son-in-law Dennis Teske of Rochester, MN; grandchildren Missy (Ralph) Reicks, Terri Throndson, Aaron Teske, Troy (Jennifer) Teske and Jeni (Adam) Holmvig; great grandchildren Trevor (Kadi) Reicks, Trenton (Haillie) Reicks, Elliot Reicks, Chloe Reicks, Shelby Reicks, Elijah Reicks, Alex and Logan Burke, Tyler Carlson, Danika Teske, Hailey Teske, Ella Holmvig and Mason Teske; great great grandchildren Tucker Reicks and Aubrey Reicks; brothers Irvin (Florence) Throndson of New Hampton; and sisters, Bernice Cutsforth, Ardis King and Helen (Jack) Whalen all of Lawler.
He is preceded in death by his parents Thrond and Bertha Throndson; wife Rita on September 9, 2010; daughter Sharon Teske on March 11, 2010; and brothers Bob and Harlan Throndson.
Cemetery:
Buriall will be in Calvary Cemetery at New Hampton, Iowa with Aaron Teske, Troy Teske, Adam Holmvig, Trevor Reicks, Trenton Reicks and Elliot Reicks serving as casket bearers.
Visitation:
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 from 4:00-7:00pm at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton with a Rosary at 4:30pm and a Scriptural Wake Service at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Service:
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Holy Family Parish - St. Josephs Center in New Hampton with Father Mark Osterhaus celebrating the mass.

Were are so sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Clarence. We have so many fond memories of him and Aunt Rita at family functions when growing up and in later years. They are once again united in God’s Kingdom. No more suffering only happiness for them now. Keep all the memories of both of them close to your heart. I will always love them both.

Joe, Lea and family: Larry and I are so sorry to hear of Clarence’s passing. I have some very fond memories of Clarence when my family came up to visit from Waterloo. He was a great guy who loved to laugh and cared very much about his family. I will really miss both Clarence and Rita. They were clearly devoted to each other. Clarence, rest in peace.
