Clem H. Langreck, age 97, of Waucoma, IA passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 surrounded by his family at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Lawler, IA with Father Nick Radloff celebrating the mass. There will be a two hour visitation at the church on Wednesday prior to the funeral mass. We encourage those attending services to ensure mask wearing and social distancing guidelines. Burial will be at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Lawler. Memorials may be directed to St. Croix Hospice or Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Clem Henry was born September 23, 1923, the son of John and Lena (Mihm) Langreck at the family farm in St. Lucas, IA. He attended St. Luke’s Catholic School in St. Lucas. After completing his education, Clem worked for several neighbors and farmers in the area. While visiting a neighbor, Clem met the love of his life, Bernice De Sloover. The couple was united in marriage on August 8, 1944 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Lawler. The couple made their home on the Langreck Family farm in Lawler and Clem’s lifelong career as a farmer began. They welcomed their seven children, Marilyn, Linda, Delores “Dee,” Jeanette “Jan,” James, Susan and Gladys. In 1982, Clem and Bernice moved to their Farm in Waucoma where they lived the remainder of their lives. Clem enjoyed woodworking, fishing when he was young. Naturally, as a farmer, Clem enjoyed checking crops and was always ready to give his family and friends a hard time. Those left to honor his memories are his children, Marilyn (Gary) Baack of Marion, IA, Linda Leibold of Waucoma, IA, Dee (Merle) Brannon of New Hampton, IA, Jan (Chuck) Bittner of Clarksville, IA, James (Mary) Langreck of Lawler, IA, Susan (Steve) Mahoney of Ionia, IA and Gladys (Bill) Hruska of Lawler, IA; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; his siblings, Agatha Busta of Little Turkey, Lillian Chipera of New Hampton, IA, Charles Langreck of West Union, IA, Virginia Kuhn of Fort Atkinson, IA, Edna Jirak of Lawler, IA, Jerome Langreck of Texas, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; grandchildren, Sally; great-grandchildren, Allyson, Ireland; his son-in-law, Linus Leibold; his siblings, Henry Langreck, Marie Langreck, Louis Langreck, Beata Schmelzer, Francis Langreck, Margaret Gossling.
