David Rimrodt

David Rimrodt, age 61 of Tripoli, Iowa formerly of Elma, Iowa died on Friday, March 6, 2009 at his home.
David Dean Rimrodt was born on October 17, 1947 to Arnold and Nora (Dybevik) Rimrodt in Elma, Iowa. He attended school in Elma and graduated from Crestwood High School at Cresco in 1965. David went to Linotype school in Charles City. He then worked as a typesetter at Waukon and Tripoli newspapers. He later worked in construction and most recently worked for Omega Cabinets. David was an avid Vikings, Twins and Cyclones fan. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and hunting. David was a member of the Wapsie Sportsmans Club, Maple Hills Country Club and was past president of the Tripoli Jaycees.
David is survived by two sisters; Diana (Buzz) Peterson of Ramsey, MN and Mary Jo (Jerry) Wolfgram of Owatonna, MN; two nieces Jennifer Peterson of Brooklyn Park, MN, Shelley (Jose) Sanchez of Savage, MN; four nephews Justin Peterson of Pierre, SD, Joshua Peterson of Ramsey, MN, Scott Wolfgram of Minnetonka, MN and Brian (Mindy) Wolfgram of Harmony, MN; one great niece Arabella; three great nephews Alex, Maddox, and Aiden. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Cemetery:
Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery at Cresco, Iowa with Spencer Holm, Steve Schmidt, Perry Sauerbrei, Dave Harms, Chuck Johnson and Ron Tierney serving as casket bearers.
Visitation:
Visitation will be 5:00-8:00pm on Monday, March 9, 2009 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in Elma and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
Service:
Funeral services will be at 10:30am on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Chapel in Elma with Pastor Michael Parris officiating.

Diana, Mary Jo and famlies: sorry to hear about Dave’s death. Dave and I were friends and roommates when I coached in Tripoli. Dave was an avid supporter of Triipoli and will be missed. Gene and Elaine Perkins, Britt, Iowa.
David was one of a kind person. When he was born, they broke the mold. Once you met him, you never forgot him.
Dave really touched my heart and was always a kind, honest and truly decent person. He could always make me laugh and was supportive during really hard times. He will be sorely missed by all of us. My many blessings to his family and other friends. He will always be in our hearts.
Oh…..”My Rimmer” You know how much I already miss you! Our times together were sometimes too far in between but we always seemed to make up for them when we were together! Your friendship was a special one, the kind you hold close to your heart forever. The best times we had were the hours we spent fixing the kitchen you tried to burn down but look what a little purple and gold paint can do and seeing the look on your face when you saw the “VIKINGS” curtains I made you was priceless!!! You were the one person I could always count on and that’s a side of you not too many saw. The long conversations we had about your family, esp the nieces and nephews, sometimes lasted for hours but I could tell just how much you loved them! We had lots of fun talking about sports trading cards and my boys will always have a special place for the two cards you gave them. They’re gonna be rich someday! :o) Well, I always hate good-byes and would rather go on and on telling “our stories” but I know it is now time to accept that God has called you home. I’m so sorry I couldn’t be there with friends and family to say a last good-bye. When I would come to see you I never quite new what to say before I left but now I regret not walking back in and saying….Thanks for being my friend, I miss you. Jennifer Miller
