Debbie Lowe, age 60, of Ionia, IA passed away Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Riceville Family Care Center in Riceville, IA after a lengthy illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Ionia, IA with Father Brian Dellaert celebrating. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Scriptural Wake Service on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Ionia Funeral Home and will continue at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday. Online condolences may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com. Memorials may be directed to St. Boniface Catholic Church. Debbie was born November 26, 1960 in Cresco, IA, the daughter of John and Marge (Barth) Lowe. She was a longtime resident of Ionia, IA. Debbie was a devoted member of St. Boniface Catholic Church. She served on the church council, ladies guild, taught Religion classes and youth group. On Monday nights you could find Debbie at church helping with Bingo. She volunteered many hours to the church and loved every moment of it! Debbie graduated in 1979 from New Hampton High School and continued her education at NICC in Calmar, IA. After graduation, Debbie worked at KCZQ Radio Station in Cresco for 30 years as Office Manager and co-owner of Ionia Funeral Home. Debbie always enjoyed the family holiday get-togethers, Christmas being her favorite which she hosted every year and always decorated the most beautiful Christmas tree. She took pleasure in seeing her niece, great niece and nephew opening gifts. She also made birthdays special and remembered family with cards. Those left to cherish her memories are her siblings, Steve Lowe of Ionia, Lola (Alan) Meyer of St. Lucas, IA and Linda (Warren) Fretheim of Ridgeway, IA; her niece, Amber (David Grube) Wilkins of Riceville and her daughter, Ariel; nephew, Kyle Fretheim of Cresco; her uncle, Milton (Ardys) Barth of Decorah, IA; aunt, Jean Lowe of New Hampton and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marge Lowe.

Deb we’ve missed you since your last day at the station on 12/24/2019. Not a day goes by without thinking of your work ethic, compassion and love for your family and radio family.   9. Debbie was a great support to KCZQ radio station for many years in Cresco! She was kind, honest & sincere! So glad I got to know her when I worked next door at Dollar General in the early years!! God bless you Debbie-no more suffering from cancer!!!!
