Donald Davis was born March 10, 1936, the son of John and Anna (Beaston) Dybevik on the home farm in rural Elma, IA.  He attended and graduated from Elma High School in 1954.  After completing his education, Donald worked on his family’s farm until 1968.  On October 23, 1971, Donald was united in marriage to the love of his life, Jacqueline Day Klockner at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. Together, they made their home in Elma where they welcomed their four children, Ryan, Heather, Tiffany and Brittany.  He worked at Schley Cheese Factory until it closed and then began working for SMI in Cresco, IA until his retirement in 2005.  Donald was a very hard worker and enjoyed building various items with his hands.  He was a collector of many things including, memories, pictures, antiques, toys and most of all, love.  Not only did he have a sweet tooth but also a very sweet heart.  His quick wit and humor will be missed by those who knew Donald.

Those left to honor Donald’s memories are his children, Ryan (Heather) Dybevik of Lake Mills, IA, Heather Dybevik of Elma, IA, Tiffany (DeVonne) Johnson of Fredericksburg, VA and Brittany (Jason) Stone of Orlando, FL; his grandchildren, Skylar, Hunter, Zarina, Layla, and Amina; his great grandchildren, Ezran, Honovi and Zayleigh; his sisters, Karen Streich of Charles City, IA and Carol Schwake of Elma; his brother, Daryl Dybevik of Cresco; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family with a strong connection to his nieces, Janet Spaulding and Heidi Dybevik.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. We are praying for you and family. May God provide strength and comfort for you during these trying times.

  2. I grew up on my Dad’s farm across the road from Dybevik’s. I remember Donnie riding on a tractor bareback every summer with the darkest tan you ever saw. I also remember going to Schley for a horn of some of that great longhorn cheese!

    • Thank you for sharing! That made me smile because he rarely wore a shirt when he was doing yardwork. He did always have the best tan!
