Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Doris was my next door neighbor until we moved to the country. She was my substitute mom. I will always remember her big smile, her giggle, and her joyous spirit. A special woman and soul beyond what words can say. Love you always! ~ Julie Kendall Fry

  2. Doris will be so missed. I loved coming to visit Elmer and her with my dear friend Rosella and Jessica. I wish I could come to the funeral or visitation but working Thursday and then leaving to go out of town. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all especially Rosella and Jessica! Steve and Miriam Kauten

  3. Elmer,
Just going thru computer message and happened upon this message about your wife. I did not know her, but you have my sympathy and I will keep you and the family in my prayers. Losing a loved one is so very hard. Peace to all……….. Edna Schwickerath

  4. Our deepest sympathies for your loss. My God comfort you and keep you close during the days ahead. The Weidlers

  5. As I was thinking how to describe Doris, I am reminded of the ‘Maria’ song from the Sound of Music when they were trying to describe Maria. Doris was many things to many people and had multiple talents and admirable traits. Doris and Elmer have been good neighbors since 1973. We have enjoyed neighborhood game nights, road trips, recipes, chit chats, etc. Doris was ’Nanny’ to our kids when I worked, and she and Elmer were like a 3rd set of grandparents to them and now like great grandparents to our grandkids. She was my surrogate Mom after my mom died. She fought her cancers with courage, grace, and faith; a beautiful person – inside and out. I will try to post a couple of photos.
