Ella Mae Adams, age 82, of New Hampton, IA passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Colonial Manor in Elma, IA with her family by her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Holy Family Parish in New Hampton with Father Brian Dellaert celebrating the mass. There will be a one hour visitation at the church prior to the funeral mass on Tuesday. If you are unable to attend the funeral mass in person, please join the family via Conway-Markham Funeral Home’s Facebook page. Burial will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo following the mass on Tuesday. Online condolences may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com. Memorials may be directed to St. Croix Hospice. Ella Mae was born April 10, 1939, the daughter of Clarence and Rita (Mishak) Zubrod in New Hampton, IA. She attended school in North Washington. On December 28, 1956, Ella Mae was united in marriage to Bill Adams at Immaculate Conception Church in North Washington. The couple made their home in North Washington and later moved to New Hampton. Together, they welcome their three daughters, Deb, Cindy and Wendy. As her daughters grew, Ella Mae began her career at Sara Lee in Quality Control until her retirement. In her retirement, Ella Mae didn’t slow down. She found time to quilt, garden and bake. However, she and Bill spent a great deal of time cheering on and supporting their grandchildren. She also enjoyed puzzles, reading and a good game of Dominoes. Those left to cherish Ella Mae’s memory are her children, Deb (Roger) Mohring of New Hampton, Cindy (Robb) Kotz, also of New Hampton and Wendy (Steve) Vander Ecken of Knoxville, IA; her grandchildren, Luke (Jennifer) Kotz, Lindsey (Marshall) Phillips, Nicole (Neal) Miller; great-granddaughter, Melanie; her siblings, Phyllis Kvidera of Ames, IA, Loie (Francis) Carney of Des Moines; her sisters-in-law, Jean (Vern) Laures of New Hampton, Joan (Dave) Jacobson of Fredericksburg, IA, Pat Wilcox of New Hampton, and Diane (Dave) Baethke of Riceville, IA and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Bill.

  3. I took communion to Ella and others when she lived at Homestead. She was a joy to visit with, specially about quilting. She borrowed one of my patterns. My sympathy to her family.
