Henry W. Galing, age 80, of Alta Vista, IA died Friday, April 1, 2011 at Muse Norris Hospice in Mason City, IA. Henry William Galing was born August 18, 1930 in Elma, IA the sone of Herman and Mary (Koci) Galing. He attended school in North Washington through the eighth grade. On May 5, 1958 Henry was united in marriage to Ruby Simons. Following their marriage, the couple moved to the Galing family farm where they have lived since. Henry is survived by his wife Ruby; his children, Catherine Galing of Alta Vista, Joann (Steve) Schuety of St. Olaf, IA, David (Sharon) Galing of Shellsburg, IA and Dale Galing of Alta Vista; his grandchildren, Austin and Autumn Schuety and his sisters, Hilda Zweibohmer of Elma and Rosella Reiss of Charles City, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Willard Galing; daughter, Theresa Galing; sisters, Agnes Eichenberger and Helen Geerts and brother, Bernard Galing.

There will be a graveside service for Henry on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 11:30 AM at St. Patrick’s Cemetery west of Elma, IA.
