Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Fond memories of Aunt Irene. Always in a positive mood and lived for the moment. She was very kind and a happy-go-lucky lady. Rest in peace.

    Marv & Jan Praska

  2. Last relative of my mom’s siblings and spouses. Interesting that my brothers and I had three Aunt Irenes–and two of them were Irene Shimak since Mom’s twin brothers each married a lady name Irene. I agree with Jan and Marv that Aunt Irene was a kind and a happy go lucky lady. Eternal Rest go unto her O Lord. Rita (Praska) and Larry Durchenwald

  3. Irene was a sweet lady and loved our kids, Scott & Kathy. They were like grandparents to them. Even though we didn’t get to see Irene much the last few years we loved her very much. Was pleased she remembered us as late as this summer, when we came to see her. Now she’s with her Clarence and all her loved ones. A real blessing in our life😘

  4. Due to weather/road conditions today I will not be able to come to Aunt Irene’s funeral. I will have several Masses said for her at St. Pat’s Church here in Cedar Falls. Condolences to the rest of the family.

  5. So sorry to hear about Irene’s passing. She was a very nice lady. I always enjoyed getting together in the summertime at the Koshatka family reunions. I remember how Irene, Angie, Wes and Charlie always made me laugh. I also have fond memories of going on trips with my parents to Elma to visit Uncle Charlie and Aunt Emma. I have a picture of the 2 of them sitting on their front steps. My parents were Dorance and Vivian Miller Sheely ( her mother was Regina Kosahtka Miller). Mom and Irene were cousins.
    Sincerely,
    Rodger and Becky Neuhaus

  6. No heart breaks alone for God is always near. When a prayer is whispered God is always there to hear. When sorrow’s overwhelming, He comforts tenderly. A single tear never falls that he does not hear.(Psalms 65:2) Sorry for your loss
