Janet E. Pacovsky, age 79, of New Hampton, IA passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 at MercyOne New Hampton. As per family request, services for Janet will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed Mayo Clinic – Cancer Research. Janet Elizabeth was born on March 4, 1941, the daughter of Donald and Elizabeth (Glasner) Hoppe. She was a 1959 graduate of New Hampton High School. After completing her education, Janet met and married, Melvin Pacovsky on September 5, 1959. They welcomed their two children, Linda and Lynn. Together, Janet and Melvin owned and operated Pine Acres Christmas Tree Farm for 60 years. Janet was proud of holding a position on the National and Iowa State Christmas Tree Growers Association. She was also a 4H member and judge until recent years, judging at the state and local levels. Janet also spent many years volunteering with Ducks Unlimited, and with a group of women began the Ladies Ducks Unlimited. Janet worked at JC Penney’s, Dungey’s Furniture, and most recently the Pub at the Pinicon. She enjoyed collecting and shopping for various items. Those left to cherished her memories are her mother Elizabeth Hoppe of Bella Vista, AR; her husband, Melvin Pacovsky of New Hampton; her children, Linda Vorwald of Durant, IA and Lynn Pacovsky of New Hampton, IA; her grandchildren, Corey (Paige) Wegner of Eau Claire, WI, Jason (Emily) Wegner of Grimes, IA, Autumn Vorwald of Davenport, IA, and Shelby Vorwald of Bend, OR; her great-grandchildren, Cole, Jackson, Madigan, Kellen, and Ashlyn; her siblings, Colleen Hoppe of Bella Vista, IA and Steven Hoppe of Texas; special friends, Bonnie Huegel and Bonnie Coffman, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Hoppe; her sister, Linda Hoppe; sister-in-law, Barb; her parents-in-law, Grant and Edith Pacovsky; and brothers-in-law, Grant (Kay) Pacovsky and Bobby Foster

  2. Am So Sad & Sorry To Hear Of Jan’s Passing. I Can Remember Her Behind The Catalog Order/Pick Up Counter. Her Smile & Soul Lit Up A Room, Even At the Tree Farm. We Got Our Christmas Trees At Pine Acres For Years. We Always Looked Forward To Seeing & Visiting Jan & Mel. Then Those Darn Deer Destroyed Trees, Was Terrible. Am Sending Prayers & Love To All Of Jan’s Family & Friends. God Bless You All.

  3. I was blessed to meet Jan in the early 1980s and we became close friends. On several occasions through the years she and Mel and their grandsons, Cory and Jason, would vacation with my family in northern Minnesota. For many years we and our kids would go out to their Christmas tree farm to find that special tree! Jan was very supportive of her friends and enjoyed getting together. I dearly loved her and will miss her. Rest In Peace dear friend! 💗
