Jerome "Jerry" Fox

Jerome Dynes Fox of New Haven, IA, died February 9th, 2022, at Colonial Manor in Elma under the excellent care of St. Croix hospice.
A graveside service for the family will be held at the graveside in St. Peter’s Catholic cemetery in New Haven, at a later date. Online condolences may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Jerry was born August 1, 1932, in Elma, IA to Henry and Eva (Dynes) Fox. He attended country school in rural New Haven and graduated from Osage High School in 1950. On August 28, 1950, he enlisted in the USAF during the Korean War and served until July 28, 1954. As a mechanic on a Boeing B29 Superfortress he traveled the world, seeing places such as Okinawa, Newfoundland, Hawaii and Iwo Jima. After his service, he returned home to New Haven and began farming. On September 14, 1955, he married Madonna Ann Showalter of Elma. They farmed in the New Haven area where they raised their 4 children.
Jerry is survived by his three sons, Dan (Ellen) of New Haven, Steve (Maridee) of Moreno Valley, CA and Karl (Stacey Hanson) of New Haven; granddaughter (daughter of Holly) Tera Schroeder (Willie) of New Haven and 8 additional grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; his sister Doris Kulage of St. Louis and a brother Curt of Hew Haven.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Madonna in 2014, daughter Holly and 3 brothers, Victor, Dale and Larry.
