Judith “Judy” A. Kobliska, age 74, of Elma, IA passed away on Monday, September 30, 2019 at Colonial Manor in Elma with her family by her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church in Elma with Fr. Jerry Kopacek celebrating the mass. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s of St. Cecelia Cemetery in rural Elma. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 PM of Friday, October 4, 2019 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in Elma with a 7:00 Scriptural Wake Service. Visitation will continue at the funeral home one hour prior to the funeral mass on Saturday. Online condolences may be left at www.conway-markhamfh.com. Memorials may be directed to the family. Judith Ann was born February 12, 1945, the daughter of Oury and Mabel (Bradley) Carter. She attended school in Elma before graduating from Crestwood High School in 1963. After completing her education, Judy began working at Hillandale in New Hampton. She then went to work for Community Action and Comprehensive Systems where she worked for over 30 years until her retirement. On June 19, 1971, Judy was united in marriage to John Kobliska at St. Cecelia Catholic Church in rural Elma. The couple made their home in Elma and continued to call it “home” their entire 48 years of marriage. Together they raised son, Mark “Humphrey.” Judy belonged to the Lime Springs Saddle Club, Pony Express, Chickasaw Trail Riders and thoroughly enjoyed her horses. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Elma and the Rosary Society. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 48 years, John Kobliska of Elma; her son, Mark “Humphrey” Burgardt of Alta Vista, IA; and numerous extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Larry, Dale, and Russell Carter.

  2. John, Mark & Family, Prayers Are Sent To You All, At This Time Of Loss. I Remember Trail Rides, Was Archie Crabtree’s, Her & Mark Rode Together. I Was Probably 6, So Was Long Ago. I Knew Her Love Of Family, How Much She Missed Her Mom. When I Struggled Financially Many Years Ago, She Would Pay Me A Visit On Behalf Of Community Action. Food, Gifts, Touched My Heart. We Would Visit, Reminisce About “The Good Ole Days.” She Had A Caring, Loving Heart. So Sad She Is Passed, Yet She Is Reunited With Her Parents & Brothers. God Bless You All With Peace. So Sorry For Your Loss.
