Wayne and family, I am sorry for your loss. Having not lived in the Lawler area for many years, I didn’t get to know June very well. However, the few times I visited with her she was always warm, friendly, and extremely proud to talk of her family. May your fond memories of her comfort each of you at this time.

June was our wonderful first secretary in Trades & Industry at then Area One in Calmar in ’69, I believe. What a bright light she was! Sincere sympathy to all her family. Karen Lee
My heart and prayers go out to Wayne and the family. My dear friend, may she rest peacefully but I know she is cheerfully introducing herself to those in heaven as she was the one to always enjoy the moment and eager to meet new people and adventures. I have great memories of such fun times and events throughout our friendship of fifty years. The last awesome time together was June insisting I be her ‘mate’ to a wedding in the “cities”. We had a ball. Always enjoyed our chats and our trips to the cities to get supplies for her vending machine business. My family send their love as my kids always got a kick out of her as she just made things ‘fun’ and told them stories of our younger years. From Ms Calmar to Mrs Bodensteiner she was always June Bug to me. With a tear, I bid you peace my friend.
Love, Linda Ripka, aka ‘Taylor”.
Our sympathy to June’s family. Roger and Margo Pleggenkuhle

Wayne and family– so sorry to hear about June. We have very fond memories when we were young in age and spent many Sundays at our Dad’s Cabin near Frederika, the fun times we had swimming in the river and ice skating in the winter. Picnics came along with this, grilling , and also some fishing and boating. Tamara (Schwarze) Rosol and Diane (Schwarze) Krumm.
GOD BLESS THE BODENSTEINER AT THE LOSS OF YOUR LOVED ONE JUNE
Our deepest sympathy to June’s family.
I shall always remember her smile and beautiful personality!

Thoughts and prayers to the families and friends at this time off loss 🙏
Wayne and family….. I was so heart broken to hear of June’s death. June and I were BFF since 3rd Grade. She was one of those childhood friends that remain lifelong cherished friends. The many wonderful, hysterical memories will be treasured in my heart forever. One of my favorites happened on a visit to the farm in the 90’s. We were sitting in the living room and all of a sudden she took off her shoe and fast balled it into the kitchen. She casually strolled into the kitchen, picked up a dead mouse by the tail and declared, “Dam mice!” What an arm! Quicker than a cat, better than a mousetrap…. Of course, being a great softball player might have had something to do with it….she was a natural at many a sport, just give her a ball and stick and she could knock it a mile.
I’m so grateful that I was able to visit her this past October with Carol while I was back from Colorado visiting my 88 year old mother in Waterloo. At first she didn’t remember me, but all of a sudden the light bulb came on….This huge smile lit up her face and she exclaimed, “Amy!” She got up out of her chair, walked over and gave me a big hug. She kept saying, “I can’t believe it’s you, I can’t believe you came all this way see me!” Then she said, “We’ve got to get out of here, where can we go?”… Oh, how I wish we could have gone back to a better time and place. One thing is for sure, whenever June crosses my mind, I’ll have a smile on my face!
Much Love & Blessings to you,
Amy Stansbury aka (Amelia Volbruck)
