  22. John, Amanda & Emily – We want you to know how sorry we are for your loss. It was a privilege to have known Kathy and we will always remember her. She was one of those rare people who had the ability to immediately lift ones spirits just by saying hello. I will never forget the first time I met Kathy and how she, single handedly, made a transplant from Wisconsin feel like New Hampton was home. She was an amazing woman who was extremely proud of her children and openly thankful for being blessed with such a great husband. You are the legacy she has left behind, keep her in your hearts and continue to make her proud. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Tom, Ginger, Jason and Lexi Rasmussen

  23. Dear Christian Friends,

Contact over this past year through the CaringBridge site, first for you, John, and then later, Kathy, has been such a wonderful blessing for us and so many others. What a joy to read the expressions of love that have been sent through these many months. Since the death of your loving wife, mother, and mother-in-law those outpourings have continued. Reading Kathy’s obituary explains some of the years of friendships that were involved.

We never got to meet Kathy, personally, but that really doesn’t matter. We treasure the journey we shared along the way. We remember, with joy, the expressions of love for her Savior that she shared with others. We will treasure the gift of modern technology that made possible a personal email from her heart to ours some months back. We remain thankful that John, you and your beloved wife have raised two very caring daughters that slid very easily into their caring roles when you first were ill. That caring just continued to also include precious times spent with their mother, when she began her own health issues. God has blessed your entire family with very loving hearts and we, the ones on the outside looking in through emails, were privy to a wonderful display of Christian love and character. May we have learned some good lessons from you.

Heavy colds keep both of us from being at Kathy’s Service of Celebration this morning, but, our spirits are with you. Our continued morning and evening prayers will continue always for your whole family, asking for God’s perfect amount of strength for each new day and His quiet rest at the end of each day.

    In Christian love,

    Rhoda and Larry Baldwin
    Jesup, Iowa
