Kenneth W. Miller

Kenneth W. Miller, age 84, of New Hampton, Iowa died on Friday, August 2, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA. Kenneth Waldean Miller was born July 27, 1929, to Lawrence and Freda (Kraus) Miller in Elkader, IA. He graduated Central Elkader High School. He was always proud of the success of the athletic teams he played on. Kenny was drafted and served during the Korean War serving his country as a medic and was a real patriot. Kenny moved to New Hampton following his discharge from the service and was a general contractor for 58 years. He was responsible for many of the homes built in New Hampton. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton, The American Legion and West Union Lodge. He was an active member of The Masons and Shrine. He enjoyed his time on the Mississippi in Prairie du Chien, WI. and his dogs Curly and Spotty. Kenny is survived by his sister Ruth (Richard) Koehn of Mt. Vernon, IA and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Freda Miller; wives Madonna and Maggie; and one brother Lawrence Jr. and wife Eunice.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 – 10:30am on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Conway Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating.
We extend our sympathy to Kenny’s family during this time. Kenny and Madonna were dear friends for many years. Kenny can now be in peace.
