Lenora "Betty" Roethler, age 78, of Alta Vista, IA, died on Friday, June 26, 2009 at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, IA. Betty was born on March 31, 1931, in Floyd, Iowa, daughter of Krene and Sophia Klink. On November 26, 1951, she married Floyd Roethler at Sacred Heart Church in Waterloo, Iowa. She graduated from Riceville High School in 1947, then worked in the cashiers department at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo. After her marriage, she and Floyd farmed west of Alta Vista. She also worked at All State Quality Foods in Charles City for fourteen years. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Elma, Iowa, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. Betty enjoyed reading, flower gardening, cooking and caring for her family. She is survived by her husband Floyd, of Alta Vista, a son, Joe of Alta Vista, a daughter, Kathy (Tim) Murphy of Waterloo, three grandchildren, Dara Roethler and Pat and Kelly Murphy, two brothers, Dale (Eleanor) Klink of Des Moines, Larry (Janet) Klink of Riceville, and two sisters, June (Frank) Richardson of Omaha, Nebraska, and Dorothy of Mason City. Bettywas preceded in death bya daughter, Terri, and her parents. Cemetery: Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery at St. Cecilia. Visitation: Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 with a scriptural wake service at 6 pm at the funeral home in Elma. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at the funeral home one hour prio to the service. Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at Immaculate Conception Church in Elma with Fr. Ray Atwood celebrating the mass.
