  1. Living in New York we didn’t get to see each other too often. When we did see each other or talk on the phone it was like we were never apart. Aunt Lucy was always happy and upbeat, a joy to be around. When she would visit she would always get up early to take a walk through the park near my home. This one time she comes back after her walk and says that a guy tried to pick her up. As she was walking past an elderly fellow he says; “come on Lucy, let’s go”. She turns to the man and said how do you know my name? He apologized and said he was calling his dog which was also named Lucy. They both had a laugh then she sat down and they spoke for hours. Another time Aunt Lucy was watching TV in the living room when we called her to come for lunch. While we were waiting for her I made myself a sandwich (it was a really nice sandwich). Just as I was about to take my first bit, Aunt Lucy came into the kitchen, took the sandwich out of my hands and went back into to living room to finish watching her show. She said that the surprised look on my face was priceless. (she did eat my sandwich!) We often tell Aunt Lucy stories and I’ll miss her a lot…

  2. To all the Brown family – we extend our deepest sympathy. Lucy was such a wonderful lady – always had a smile when I would see her at the nursing home. Keep all her memories close to your heart during this difficult time. She is now at peace. God bless you all.

  11. To the family of Lucy Brown: I feel truly blessed to have known Lucy, most recently in the five years that my father was a resident at the NH Care Center from (2004-09). Dad’s room was in the same hall way and we often visited. I always enjoyed a story or two with Lucy and visiting with Bill when he came to see his mother. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

  12. We want to extend our sincere sympathy to Lucy’s family. We worked many years at Sara Lee with Lucy serving us as our “Quality Control” check point. May the peace which comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days ahead. We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

  13. Our sympathy to each of you at the loss of your sister, mother, and grandmother. I have many fond memmories of visits with Delmar and Lucillle as we were growing up. We will remember Delmar and Lucille in our prayers as well as each of you. I have enjoyed visiting with Leota at the Veteraran’s Home. Tom goes there each week to give Leota and Bill communion along with other residents there. God bless you! Tom and Joyce

  14. I would like to express my deepest condolences to each of you. My mother resides in the New Hampton Care Center, and Lucille will be greatly missed. I live 5 hours away, near Beloit, WI, so I had not seen Lucille since the day of the Thanksgiving Dinner. The momentary break in the weather allowed me to visit New Hampton this past Friday. I arrived shortly before the evening meal. When I noticed that Lucille was not at her table, I began to look for her. Eric, an aide, came into the dining area, and I asked him about Lucille. She ALWAYS was so interesting and friendly–and she didn’t know me from Adam! She never missed conversing pleasantly with me each time I visited. She was one of the classiest persons I have ever met! Heaven must be even more wonderful now that she’s there.
