Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Sorry about the news of Luella’s death. She was a wonderful lady and lived a great life! I remember when Rick and I were getting married in 1980. We were at rehearsal at 7 pm and about 8 it dawned on us that we forgot to pick up our marriage lcense. So the good great aunt she was, and working at the courthouse, we called her and she was able to get it for us! Our thoughts and prayers to the family.

  2. Luella was my friend and co-worker for so many years at the Courthouse. She was dignified and respected. In 1996 I came to be her successor as Auditor. Of course the job she did to the job I did changed much over the years, and one day I had the opportunity to show Luella the office and just how we did what she did years prior. She was happy and amazed that I took the time to show her. I was happy to share with her and I truly enjoyed the time that I spend showing her the office. Whenever I had a change meeting with her, I found her great to visit with. She always had a great memory. Our hobbies were similiar, so we had ‘common ground.’ Each of you has my deepest sympathies for your loss of Luella. She will be welcomed into Heaven. Judy

  3. My condolences to the Lentz family. My memories of Luella stem from the Ball family growing up just a few doors down from the Lentz’s. I remember Mr. Lentz as being very protective of his apple trees (I got caught once). I remember Linda being our kind, blonde and pretty babysitter (poor thing), and I remember the Lentz home always being quite lively. It was unusual to walk by the house without one or two of the boys running out the front door chasing after one or the other! I also remember Mrs. Lentz, (Luella..we never called anyone by their first name back then!) to be a kind, smiling woman. Great memories…great family…May she rest in peace. Deb – the baby of the Ball family.

  4. Our sympathies to the Lentz family. When I think of Luella, I think of two things–laughter and patience. I was too young to remember many details of the Ungs family reunions at Mikkelson Park, but what I definitely do remember is the Ungs sisters and brothers laughing–belly laughs–as they enjoyed their time together. Also, Luella was my religion teacher when I was a mouthy, disobedient little boy. Now, as a teacher myself, I truly appreciate how much patience Luella showed me even when I deserved a slap on the rear or more. If I would have truly understood that Luella was my grandma’s sister, I might have acted a little better for her! I can only imagine how much fun and laughter Luella is having with my grandma and her other siblings in heaven right now…those big belly laughs I hear make me smile.

  5. We are going to miss Luella. She was such a spry and witty lady, traits she most obviously passed on to her children! Her passing makes the Ungs family reunion this past summer even more special and cherished in our memories.

  6. Your Mother and Father always made me feel right at home when I would be there. Your Mother was a wonderful person who gave me a sense of calm about the future. She was so very proud of all her children and your accomplishments. I’m glad I was able to know her and have a little of her in my life.

  7. Bob and family,

Please accept out sincere sympathy at this difficult time as you say good-bye to your mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. We rejoice with you that she did not suffer at the end , and that she is with her Lord.

  8. As my sister and I were sitting with my 96 year old mother today, she said to us. I have been waiting and waiting for one Christmas card and it didn’t come at all, I know something has happened to Luella, I’ll bet she died. So my sister had her laptop in hand and we went to work to see if we could find anything. Needless to say it made for a bit of a sad Christmas for mom as I am sure it did for all of you. I will try to get in touch with one of you to talk. You probably remember how “our” mothers went to the teachers college together. They remained lifelong friends until now. Mom also said she sent her a Christmas card, you will probably be receiving it soon. She will live on in your hearts forever.
