Mae C. Heiselman

Mae C. Heiselman, age 83 of New Hampton, IA died Sunday, July 19, 2009 at New Hampton Care Center in New Hampton, IA. Mae Caroline Heiselman was born on May 21, 1926 to George and Clara (Pietan) Koehler in New Hampton, IA. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in New Hampton, IA. Mae attended and graduated from New Hampton High School in 1944. After graduation she went on to attend the University of Northern Iowa. Mae worked at Eclipse Lumber Company for three years. On December 4, 1958 Mae was united in marriage to Romaine Otto Heiselman at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in New Hampton, IA. After their marriage the couple farmed near Lawler, IA. On December 1, 1990 Mae and Romaine retired and moved to Maes childhood home in New Hampton. Mae enjoyed latch hooking, crocheting, playing 500 at the Community Center and visits from her family and friends. Mae enjoyed teaching Sunday school for 20 years. She was a Charter member of the Birthday Club and Quint Corners Club, also a member of the Friendship Club, the American Legion Auxiliary Post #38, Church Circle Member for many years and Trinity LC. Mae delivered meals on wheels for several years.Mae is survived by her husband Romaine of New Hampton, IA; three sons Robert of New Hampton, IA, Lyndon (Linda) Heiselman of LeClaire, IA, and Wayne Heiselman of Marshall, MN; six grandchildren Eric, Carolmae, Alexander, Garrett, Jessica and Erica Heiselman; several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; maternal grandparents William and Lena Pietan and paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Herman Koehler. Cemetery: Burial will be in New Hampton Cemetery with Duane Heiselman, Larry Pietan, Dan Heiselman, Eric Heiselman, Alex Heiselman and Dennis Heiselman serving as casket bearers. Visitation: Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in New Hampton. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church in New Hampton. Service: Funeral Service will be at 10:30 am on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in New Hampton, IA with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating.
