Marian L. Bahlmann

Marian L. Bahlmann, age 90, of Frederika, IA, died on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the New Hampton Care Center in New Hampton. Marian Leone Treloar was born on December 13, 1921 to Edward and Laura (Smith) Treloar on a farm near Sumner, Iowa. She attended country school and graduated from Sumner High School in 1938 and after her graduation she taught country school. Marian was united in marriage to Stanley Bahlmann on June 24, 1941 at Faith Church in Tripoli. The couple farmed near Frederika and later moved into Frederika where they lived the rest of their lives. She was a cook at Frederika High School, New Hampton Care Center, Tripoli Nursing Home and Congregate Meals in Tripoli. Later she was an aide at Bremer County Care Facility. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, cooking, baking and playing cards. She was an active member of Frederika United Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society. Marian is survived by her children Gary (Gayle) Bahlmann of Lansing, IA, Marilyn (Vern) Bockhaus of Ionia, IA, Dennis Bahlmann of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, Jeffery Bahlmann of New Hampton, Judy Houston of St. Louis, MO, Debbie (Denny) Reding of Dysart, IA, and Martin Bahlmann of Cedar Falls, IA; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers Jack (Judy) Treloar of Waucoma, IA and Don (Mary) Treloar of Hawkeye, IA; sister Joyce Ellicson of Decorah, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Stanley on February 22, 2010; sisters Beth Wireman and Catherine Flaig; and brothers George and Clayton Treloar.
Cemetery:
Burial will be in Alcock Cemetery at rural Frederika, Iowa with Brian Bahlmann, Todd Bahlmann, Mark Bockhaus, Austin Reding, Tyler Reding, Lee Bahlmann and Tyler Bahlmann serving as casket bearers.
Memorials may be given to Frederika United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be 4:00-7:00pm, Friday, July 6, 2012 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Funeral services will be 10:30am, Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Frederika United Methodist Church, Frederika, Iowa with Pastor Sheryl Hull officiating.

I am soo sorry to hear about Marion. I have gotten to no her in the last year. She was a dear friend.. She has tought me thing of what to talk about with other residents.. I will miss her dearly. Your frieand Angela Burgart.

What a lady! Raised awesome kids and was rewarded with 90 earthly years! One can’t ask for more.
