  5. To Marie’s Family, Virginia Dedor called yesterday to let me know of Marie’s death. Virginia is my primary link back to my cousins and others in the Fredericksburg area, my own birthplace (New Hampton Hospital – 1939). Over all these years, I always enjoyed visits with cousin Marie. I recall Marie and Ward’s wedding and the gathering at Grandma Gitch’s house where my family would stay when visiting from Grand Rapids, MI. During those early visits we spent many fun hours at the Harrison Farm…and I recall the school house across the street (my dad, Carl Gitch, attended there as well, having grown up on the farm before moving “to town.” In later years, both while living in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and subsequently visiting the Twin Cities from where we now live in Washington state, we would stop at the farm in Jerico, on the way to Frederiscksburg, to visit Ward and Marie and then just Marie. She was always warm and so hospitable as we sat in the big room adjacent to the kitchen to catch up on news. Sue and I looked forward to her letters every Christmas…handwritten…and will miss them. Just recently I have sorted through photos and have many from my visits to the area, many with my Harrison cousins. My sister, Nadine, was age wise somewhere between Florence and Marie. We will miss Marie in many ways but keep the memories fresh. Dave Gitch (and Sue) 16956 Scandia LN NW, Poulsbo, WA 98370 Please accept our heartfelt sympathy

  6. Our prayers and condolences go to Carol, Mark, Bruce and family. Marie and Ward were good neighbors.
