  3. My Sympathy to Maxine’s family..many years ago, when she was in high school, she helped my mom when I was a baby. I am now 72. My parents always talked very highly about her. They helped her and she helped them. My parents were Lyle and Marjorie Mattke living on a farm near Fredericksburg.

  7. We are so sorry to hear about Maxine. She was a wonderful woman. We have so many good memories of her. She was always so kind, loving, and caring to us. We really enjoyed the visits we had with her. I remember as a young girl, we made many visits to their farm and then when they moved, we went down to their house in New Hampton. I also remember that when I was a little girl, I looked forward to Easter, because that’s when the Costello’s got together for our family reunion. She’s really going to be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

    Love,
Lisa, Daryl, Alyssa and Brandon Sobolik

  8. Your family was soooo very blessed to have Maxine as their mother, grandmother. She was one of the nicest lady’s that I have met in my life.. We often met at wrestling meets years ago because we both had son’s that wrestled each other and our husbands both sold Pioneer Seed. It has been a number of years since I spent time with her but I still thought of her now and then. Since we are in Phoenix for the winter, we are unable to attend her service but prayers and sympathy go to her family and friends that she leaves behind. God’s comfort. Again, sympathy

  9. Jim, Mary, Lisa and all the Costello family, we send our sympathy to you all. We are in Florida so will not be able to attend your Mother’s services but know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Her smile and kindness will be greatly missed, she will always be in your hearts ❤

  10. Max was a wonderful woman that I had the chance to care for in the nursing home. She was like a grandma to me and would always ask me how my family was doing. From my husband and children to my mother after we found out she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. I loved her very much and she will be greatly missed

  11. Maxine touched many lives with her kind, generous heart over the years. We became friends through Mercy’s Silver Advantage club when she traveled on bus trips. Always, she had a bright smile, a friendly comment and a sincere concern for others. She will be missed! My deepest sympathy to her family.

  12. Maxine was a joy to know. She was a regular worshiper with us at the chapel services at the nursing home. Maxine had a gentle and kind heart and soul. I will certainly miss our times together.

  13. My deepest sympathy to the Costello family. Maxine was a awesome Mother, friend and had the kindest soul. Maxine you will be missed by all that knew you.
    Sincerely Mike Fitzgerald

  16. Sending prayers to the Costello family. Maxine was a kind and gentle soul and will be missed by all those who loved her. Keeping you in my thoughts.

  17. Condolences from a great, great niece (Katie Hartman Eastvold–my dad is Jack Hartman and grandma is Wilma Hartman). Maxine’s picture captures her smile beautifully. I will always remember Maxine and John at graduations, weddings, family reunions and the look on my Great Grandma Bessie’s face as they greeted each other. Maxine’s smile and kindness will be missed. Katie (Hartman) Eastvold

  18. I’m saddened to read of your loss. Losing someone you love is never easy. May God provide you the strength needed now and also in the days ahead. (Isaiah 12:2)

  19. Jim, John, Mary, Greg, Gene, and families, We want to extend our deepest sympathy for your loss. We loved Maxine so much and will miss her gentle spirit. She was so proud of her children and grandchildren. We visited often on the phone especially since Mom’s passing. She always updated us on the families’ lives. Her grandchildren and greats were her pride and joy. Although we are not able to attend the celebration of her life, please know we will be with you in spirit during this time. Love, Joe and Sharon Haskovec

  20. No heart breaks alone for God is always near. When a prayer is whispered God is always there to hear. When sorrow’s overwhelming, He comforts tenderly. A single tear never falls that he does not hear.(Psalms 65:2) Sorry for your loss.

  21. Jim, John, Mary, Gene & family with heavy hearts but yet a joyful time to see that Maxine relocated to Heaven. Some day we will all be together enjoying the presence of Jesus. I remember during our 4H days together how kind Maxine was toward others & how she enjoyed people. Praying for strength through Christ Jesus for your families.
