Patricia A. Hansen
July 10, 1934 ~ August 4, 2014
Patricia A. Hansen, age 80, of New Hampton, IA passed away with her husband Willis, at her side on Monday, August 4, 2014 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.
I was born on July 10, 1934 to Howard B. and Helen Grace Deeming Good in New Hartford, IA.
My father was co-owner of the local elevator so I would go to see him to get a nickel so that I could purchase something at the café. He was also co-owner with Harry Moore in the Allis Chalmers dealership. Martin Hansen, Willis’s father, purchased his first tractor, a model “B” John Deere tractor from them in 1939.
I started school in New Hartford in 1939. Sister’s Doris and Lois took me to school on the first day. I began dating Willis when I was a freshman in High School. I graduated from New Hartford High School in 1952 and we were married on August 3, 1952 at New Hartford Methodist Church.
Willis entered the service in 1952. While Willis was in the Army, Dennis was born in 1953 and we lived with my parents until Willis came home.
We had five children: Dennis, Thomas, Robert, Roger and Carmen. I tried to be a very good mother to the five children. They were in contact with me on a regular basis.
I was the treasurer of The Little House of Bargains in New Hampton for many years. I created many beautiful ceramic pieces over the years and I loved going to my weekly ceramics class and chatting with the girls.
We have our home away from home in Lake Ozark, Missouri. We enjoyed the home and the time Willis and I were able to spend together. We enjoyed our many rounds of golf together.
I am survived by my husband of 62 years, Willis of New Hampton, IA; my five children; Dennis and Leslie Hansen of New Hampton, Thomas and Joyce Hansen of Eden Prairie, MN, Robert Hansen of New Hampton, Roger and Tina Hansen of New Hampton and Carmen and Steve Stenhaug of Rochester, MN; 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; one sister Frances (Ernest) Lund of Iowa City, IA. I was preceded in death by my parents Howard and Helen Good; five sisters Margaret, Evelyn, Lois, Doris and Violet; and one brother Leon.
Condolences to your family on the loss of your dear wife and mother.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I know my mom and dad (Harlan and Teresa Anderson) thought a lot of their bankers Willis and Roger.

My sincere sympathy to you, Willis, and to your family. Pat was a special person and the four of us certainly shared many happy and memorable times together over the past many years, both here in New Hampton and in our several trips together. For two ” poor boys”, we sure each got a wonderful partner, didn’t we?! How fortunate we were to have them for so many years. May God be with you at this very sad and stressful time.

Dear uncle Willis and Family, all my love and prayers at this hard time. Aunt Pat was more than a kind and wonderful person, she was my American aunt! We´ve shared our lives for almost 40 years!!!! We have exchanged many cards and some letters…. telling about our families. She would be there for you and knew how to demonstrate her love by actions and nice words. She´ll be in my Brazilian heart forever! (sorry for any English mistakes)- Sílvia Regina Nehring Cogo and family.
