Ricky A. Slick, age 56,of New Hampton, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Allen Hospital in Waterloo, IA. Ricky Allen Slick was born on March 19, 1956 to Richard and Barbara (Moody) Slick in New Hampton, IA. He moved to Fredericksburg, IA with his family where he attended school. Rick worked with his dad in the masonry business. Rick was united in marriage to Donna Ransom on April 27, 1974 at the United Congregational Church in New Hampton. The couple made their home in Charles City where they raised their family. He was employed as a truck driver for Croel and Neil Mahr for several years. Rick owned and operated Slick Trucking of New Hampton for nine years. He enjoyed camping and being with his family, especially his granddaughter. Rick is survived by his mother, Barbara Slick of New Hampton; his wife, Donna Slick of New Hampton; his children, Jeremy and Joey Slick, both of Ionia and Patti Hoeck of New Hampton; his granddaughter, Madison Hoeck of New Hampton; his sisters, Pamela Moritz of West Gate, IA, Stephanie Nystel of New Hampton, Judy Feltz of New Hampton and Kelly (Mike) Hennings of Sumner, IA; his brothers, Loren (Carmela) Slick of Alta Vista, Gerard Slick of New Hampton and Richard Slick, Jr. also of New Hampton. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Slick, Sr. and his sister, Gloria Slick. Cemetery: Burial will be in New Hampton Cemetery at New Hampton following the service on Wednesday. Memorials may be directed to the family. at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton and will continue at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating.
