Rose Nystel, age 80, of New Hampton, IA died Saturday, December 1, 2012 at New Hampton Nursing and Rehab. Rose Marie was born on March 12, 1932 in Chickasaw County to Ulysses and Anna (Rohrick) Stansberry. She attended country school in Devon Township. After school she worked on the family farm. On August 14, 1950, Rose was united in marriage to Kenneth Nystel at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton. The couple resided in Chickasaw County where they raised their two children. Throughout the years she worked at several jobs until becoming a homemaker. Rose enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, needle pointing, as well as spending time with her brothers and sisters. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Rose is survived by her son, Marlin “Boomer” Nystel; her daughter Sue (Steve) Wegner, all of New Hampton; her grandchildren, Shawn, Ashley, Brandon and Spencer Wegner; her great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Madison Wegner and Jake Milder; one brother, Lawrence Stansberry of Waterloo, IA; one sister-in-law, Lois Stansberry of New Hampton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth on February 23, 1978; her siblings, Ervin Stansberry, Sylvia Nystel, Orella Schwickerath and Edna Maklenburg. Cemetery: Burial will be held at New Hampton Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton and will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Funeral services will be held for Rose at 10:30, Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating.
