Warren A. Ewy

Warren A. Ewy, age 86, of Elma, Iowa died on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at his home. Warren Aaron Ewy was born on November 18, 1924 to Henry and Mollie (Ario) Ewy at Burlington, Wisconsin. Warrens family moved several times and settled in Iowa. Warren farmed with his brother Victor near Acme, Iowa until his marriage to Alice Brockney on March 19, 1958. The couple made their home on Warrens present farm northwest of Elma. They farmed and raised their two children where Warren has continued to farm to the present time. Warren enjoyed farming, fixing what needed fixing, reading, gardening and cooking for his family and friends. He was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church in Elma. Warren is survived by two children, David (Michele Reinert) Ewy of Elma, IA and Donna (Mark) Gaffey of Riceville, IA; grandchildren Darren (Michelle) Ewy of Rochester, MN, Jessi Stevenson of Alta Vista, IA, Angela Gaffey of Rochester, MN and Ryan Gaffey of Riceville, IA; two great grandchildren Amojean Stevenson and Tristin Stevenson-Slick of Alta Vista, IA. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Alice in 1976; grandson Sean; four brothers Walter, Otto (Sonny), Ernest and Victor; three sisters Erma, Alma and Evelyn. Memorials: Memorials may be directed to the family. Cemetery: Burial will be in Howard Cemetery, Elma, Iowa. Visitation: Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 from 3:00-7:00PM at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home in Elma and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Service: Funeral services will be 1:00PM on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Elma with Pastor Ryan McDermott officiating.
