William F. Edgar, age 71, of New Hampton, IA passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. William Fay Edgar was born on December 13, 1941 to Paul and Elizabeth (Schoonover) Edgar in New Hampton, IA. Bill graduated from New Hampton High School in 1960. He worked at White in Charles City and joined the Army National Guard. He later was employed as a truck driver for Francis Lowe, Mid-America Farm Lines, C.A.S.H., Hillendale Farms, Plum Building Supplies, Rausch Brothers Trucking and Phillips Modern Ag. He also worked for the IaDOT. Bill was married to Jean Nosbisch in 1964 and later divorced. Bill was united in marriage to Nancy Morrison on July 4, 1981 at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton. Bill enjoyed ice fishing, drives in the country with his dogs, playing cards and tinkering in the garage. Bill is survived by his wife Nancy of New Hampton; children Shelly (Lance) Moorman of New Hampton, Billy (Jackie) Edgar of Elma, IA, Carly Edgar of Cedar Falls, IA, and Paul Edgar of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren Samantha (H.B.) Hill, Emily (Mitch) Boss, Kristina Boos and Brian Mueterthies, Jeremy Moorman and Erin Snyder, Ashley Moorman and Tony Tank, Cody Moorman, Ashley and Aubrey Vorwald, and Austin Edgar; great grandchildren Jayla, Aaliyah, Ryan, Tristin, Izabel, Maddi, Myla, Kei, Lohen and Journie; sisters Bonnie (Lowell) Granneman of Waverly, IA and Pat (Dale) Cutsforth of Bella Vista, AR; brother Jim (Monica) Edgar of Waterloo, IA; and several nieces and nephews. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Elizabeth Edgar, one sister Gloria Pierce and one brother Robert “Bob” Edgar. Cemetery: Burial will be in New Hampton Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Visitation will be from 3:00-6:00pm on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton. Memorial services will be at 6:00pm on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Conway-Markham Funeral Home in New Hampton with Pastor Kevin Frey officiating. Burial will be in New Hampton Cemetery at a later date. Military Rites provided by New Hampton American Legion Post #38 and the New Hampton VFW Post #5238.
